Accepting the change
Dr Ranbir Laishram
Time's relentless march,
a truth we can't deny,
Brings change to all, and we must wonder why.
The world keeps spinning, life in Kangkeipak too,
Undergoes transformations, some slow, some anew.
Our kingdom once proud, with mighty kings of old,
Now faces changes that erode our societal gold.
They creep in slowly, like a thief in the night,
Eroding our unique ecosystem, a precious delight.
Then comes the ethnic violence, ruthless and cold,
Abrupt and merciless, leaving hearts turned old.
Unprecedented brutality, a shock to our soul,
A change that's here to stay, our hearts must make whole.
While accepting this change, we must find a way,
To survive and save ourselves from extinction's gray.
We must safeguard our territorial integrity too,
Though with some loss of brethren, our hearts must see this through.
Let's be brave and unite, endure the unbearable pain,
And suffer not in silence, but rise above the flames.
Some thrive on change, while others pour oil on the fire,
Some get displaced, while others grab what they desire.
But who suffers most? The poor and disadvantaged few,
Their faces reflect the turmoil, their hearts forever true.
Yet, our motherland's face remains unchanged, serene,
The mountains stand, the hills may lose their trees, but they'll be seen.
The trees will grow again, Mother Nature will prevail,
The vicious hands will be disciplined, and our homeland will set sail.
