IMPHAL, Jan 21: REYS Khwai Nagamapal Lamabam Leikai and ESU Wangkhei Palace Compound emerged victorious in today's matches of the 9th MNCA W Prahlada & W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2024-25.
REYS beat PTCC Patsoi Part III by wickets at Model Higher Secondary Ground.
ESU beat CRAU Khamnam Bazar by 6 wickets at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
REYS vs PTCC Patsoi Part III
PTCC Patsoi Part III won the toss and opted to bat first to amass 186 for 8 wickets in 40 overs.
REYS completed the chase and scored a winning 189 for 8 wickets in 36.3 overs.
Facing REYS balls, Andy Mandingbam knocked a massive 49 runs off 59 to help his team get to 186.
Abit Hijam and Sohail Akram scored 22 runs each off 34 and 19 balls respectively.
REYS' Md Basir Rahman took 4 wickets. Kiran Laishram took 2 wickets, Yungkham Romario Roy and Sapam Bikash Singh took one wicket each.
In REYS' chase, Naoshekpam Manglemba Meetei scored 31 off 50 balls--the most runs for his team.
Yungkham Romario Roy scored 29 runs off 21 balls.
Sougrakpam Shangkar Singh and KKV Mustaque knocked 27 runs each from 23 and 40 balls respectively.
Md Basir Rahman, who took 4 PTCC wickets, knocked 22 runs off 34 balls.
Nanao Singh Laishram too took 22 runs off 13 balls.
PTCC's Naorem Victor Meitei, Sadananda Okram and Loukrakpam Anao Singh took 2 wickets each.
Sohail Akram and Dominic Moirangthem took one wicket each.
ESU vs CRAU
ESU Wangkhei Palace Compound opted to field first.
CRAU Khamnam Bazar scored 143 for 10 wickets in 27.2 overs.
ESU completed the chase in 33 overs scoring 147 for 4 wickets.
Braving ESU superb balling, Thongam Joychandra knocked a massive 65 runs off 43 balls, and his team-mate, Ayekpam Rajesh Singh contributed 35 runs off 60 balls.
Lamabam Jotin Singh, Johny Kh, Dennis Khagenbam and Heishnam Joyhenba Meitei failed ESU test, scoring zero.
ESU's Chitaranjan Sharma took 4 wickets.
Hemchand Yumkham took 3 CRAU wickets.
Lourembam Dipu Singh took 2 wickets and Thokchom Nishikanta Singh took 1 wicket.
In ESU turn batting, Chingtham Mehul Shreth and Sanatomba shone as they scored 48 off 84 and 42 off 53 respectively.
CARU's Lamabam Ajay Singh took 2 ESU wickets, while his team-mate, Takhellambam Kala Singh took a wicket.
