No need to celebrate Statehood Day : PREPAK
By Our Staff Reporter
IMPHAL, Jan 20: The proscribed PREPAK has categorically stated that the people of Kangleipak ought not participate in the Statehood Day celebration by the State Government on January 21.
Through a press release issued by the outfit’s charge-de-affairs, publicity and propaganda LeibaakNgaakpa Luwang, the outfit has appealed to all the people not to take part in the Statehood Day celebration.
Had Kangleipak been an integral State of India, India would not have let the people suffer for so long at the hands of narco-terrorists who launched a sustained aggression on May 3, 2023, it said.
Asking as to why the Government of India has been using the armed terrorists from across the border to wage war against the indigenous communities and why New Delhi has been watching silently to all ecologically disastrous activities of illegal immigrants, the outfit said that India is least concerned with all these activities because it cannot see Kangleipak as a part of India.
Had India considered Kangleipak as one of its States, it would not have left the India-Myanmar border unguarded for so long. How India left the India-Myanmar border totally unguarded starkly contrasts the stringent security measures taken up along India-Bangladesh, India-Pakistan and India-China borders, it remarked.
Pointing out that tens of thousands of people are being made to live like refugees in their own homeland for almost two years, the outfit asked how could the people of Manipur feel proud of being a State of India under such treatment.
It is the Government of India’s vile policies which has created divisions among the communities and put all the people under extreme misery, it alleged.
It also appealed to all the people to boycott the Statehood Day celebration in totality.
