IMPHAL, Jan 20: Saying that the people of WESEA including Kangleipak/Manipur need not participate in the Republic Day celebration of India, the Socialist Revolutionary Party (SOREPA), Kangleipak has called a general strike from 4 am to 5 pm on January 26.
A press release issued by the outfit’s information and organization secretary MC Yaiphabi said that India was formed after annexing several small independent Nations before the Indian Constitution was imposed upon the annexed Nations on January 26, 1950 which is commemorated as the Republic Day every year.
The Republic Day of India only reminds the people of Kangleipak that they are a colonised people living under bondage, it alleged.
It said that the general strike/total shutdown would not cover media, medical services, emergency services and religious functions.
SOREPA also paid revolutionary salute to all those people who laid down their lives in protecting the integrity and territorial boundary of Kangleipak.
It also condoled the brutal massacre of six innocent women and children by illegal immigrants who are being allegedly supported by the Government of India.
The illegal immigrants and the Indian military forces who have been colluding with the former in committing genocide against indigenous communities of the land ought to be punished for crimes against humanity, it said.
The campaign to annihilate the indigenous communities and alter the territorial boundary of Kangleipak/Manipur must be condemned by one and all.
The outfit also appealed to all the indigenous communities to cease all acts of hostility and conflict but fight the alleged colonial policies of India collectively.
