Natl Kung-Fu C'ship gold medallist Heisnam Thomas feted

Imphal, Jan 2 : Heisnam Thomas who brought home a gold medal from the 3rd National Kung-Fu Champion-ship was accorded a warm reception upon his return by the Loktak Sports Academy at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport today.
The championship was held from December 27 to 29 in Lumding, Assam and Thomas, son of H Sobhachandra and Thoibi of Thanga Heisnam Chingjeng Leikai, won the gold medal in the 68 kg category competition. The athlete along with his parents were accorded reception at his locality by the Loktak Sports Academy. Speaking at the occasion, secretary of the academy, Heisnam Sanjoy said that H Thomas has not only brought laurels to Manipur but also to the village. Congratulating Thomas on his achievement, Sanjoy also extended best wishes for his future endeavours.
