JAC threatened

IMPHAL, Jan 2: A hand grenade was found at the residential gate of one Laishram Binod at Loitang Khunou along with a warning letter from KCP against the JAC formed in connection with the disappearance of Laishram Kamalbabu inside 57th Mountain Division Headquarters, Leimakhong since November 25, 2024.
Some people of the locality came across the hand grenade and the warning letter this morning and they informed Sekmai police station.
The warning letter read as “This is the last warning to Kamalbabu JAC; the JAC should be disbanded and a new one should be constituted; no contractor should join the JAC; all seeking personal benefits from people’s movements will be eliminated”.
Police safely picked up the grenade along with the warning note before registering an FIR at Sekmai police station in connection with the incident.
Taking strong exception to the act of threatening the JAC and the individual, local people later staged a protest demonstration at Loitang Khunou.
