IMPHAL, Jan 19 : State team of Manipur Yoga Society finished first runners up in the 36th National Yogasana Championship 2024-25 that concluded today at Midnapore Sports Complex, West Bengal.
Manipur made the big finish by amassing 6 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze medals in the said championship, said Manipur Yoga Society in a press release.
The athletes who won gold medals at the said championship are Ningthoujam Thajamanbi in the women's 24 to 40 years traditional event; Wahengbam Priyokumar in the men's 51 to 65 years traditional event; Huidrom Angou in the men's 66 to 100 years traditional event; Kshetrimayum Sobharani in the women's 66 to 100 years traditional event; Ningthoujam Thajamanbi in the women's rhythmic single event for 24 to 40 yrs and Surkumar Longjam and Lanchenba Longjam in the 10-14 years boys artistic pair event.
Meanwhile, Pravin Koirala (24 to 40 years men's), Ayekpam Bedashastri (41 to 50 years women's), Pukhrambam Satyabati (51 to 65 years women's), Sougrakpam Ratankumar (66 to 100 years men's) and Aribam Seitabati (66 to 100 years women's) won silver medals in the traditional event.
Winning bronze medals in the meantime include Irungbam Jenika (11 to 14 years girls traditional), Laishram Sanatombi (19 to 23 year women's traditional), Ngangbam Deviyarani (24 to 40 years women's traditional), Haobam Indeshwor (51 to 65 years men's traditional), Maibam Sanahanbi (51 to 65 years women's traditional), Ningthoujam Jit (66 to 100 years men's traditional) and Khwairakpam Memcha (66 to 100 years women's traditional).
