Col Ksh Arunkumar Memorial 4th Inter Club Futsal Tournament begins

IMPHAL, Jan 19 : Col Kshetrimayum Arunkumar Memorial 4th Inter Club Futsal Tournament 2024-25 kicked off today at KIYC Artificial Turf Ground in Kshetri Awang Leikai.
The 14-team tournament was formally launched this afternoon in the presence of Sheikh Noorul Hassan, MLA Kshetrigao AC; Sheikh Abdul Hakim, Jt Secretary YAS; M Ratankumar, member All India Football Federation; W Mobimacha, president, IWDFA and DB Kowar, acting president, All Manipur Football Association as dignitaries.
The opening match of the tournament saw Naoton Football Academy (NFA) edge Athletic Brothers' Association (ABA), Kshetrigao by 13-11 goals in a keenly contested encounter.
NFA enjoyed a 5-3 advantage till half time but ABA rallied to reduce the arrear in the second half with 8 goals but their efforts went in vain as NFA too maintained their momentum and managed 8 goals to come out victorious by 13-11 goals.
Th Naoton topscored for NFA adding 7 goals (6', 19', 19', 20', 33', 37, 40') alone including four goals in the first half while Th Majaibungo netted four goals (5', 33', 36', 38'). S Sanathoi (28') and Y Jellyson (32') also scored a goal apiece to set up the victory.
Meanwhile, Md Rahamad Khan (13', 22', 35') scored a treble for ABA as Anjim Ali (17', 28') and Md Sarfarash (22', 33') contributed two goals apiece and Roaf (14'), Arif Khan (23'), Md Mustak (28'), and Md Farhan (28') found a goal apiece.
