AMGA fetes National championship medallists, names National Games' team

IMPHAL, Jan 18 : The All Manipur Gymnastics Association (AMGA) today felicitated State athletes who represented Manipur at the recently held National Artistic Gymnastics and Aerobic Gymnastics championships.
Notably Manipur sealed three bronze medals at the National Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Gujarat in December last while Manipur finished with a rich haul of 7 medals including 5 gold medals at the All Age Group Aerobic Gymnastics National Championships 2024-25 that was hosted by Jammu and Kashmir from January 10 to 13.
Notably Ariha Pangambam and Okram Umajit won gold medals in senior individual events as Mutum Romesh won another gold medal for Manipur in the junior men's individual event. Mutum Romesh also won another gold medal in the junior trio event along with Anjori Pangambam and RK Thoithoilembi before securing third gold medal with RK Thoithoilembi in the junior mixed pair event.
Anjori Pangambam meanwhile won a bronze medal in the junior women's individual competition as Ariha Pangambam, Huirem Jesika and Okram Umajit settled for the other bronze medal in the senior trio competition.
Meanwhile the athletes who returned with bronze medals from the Gujarat event include Tekcham Yoihenba (sub junior boys'  still ring); Gracemi Pangambam (junior girls' Balance Beam) and Oinam Bandana Devi, (junior  girls' Vaulting Table)
The athletes and officials that led the teams were encouraged with simple gifts during the reception programme held at Khuman Lampak Indoor Hall.
National Games' Team
AMGA has also named athletes who will be representing Manipur at the upcoming 38th National Games 2025 to be hosted by Uttarakhand.
The athletes who made it to the State team are S Ruban Meitei for men's artistic gymnastics; O Bandana for women's artistic gymnastics; Ariha Pangambam for women's individual aerobic gymnastics; Huirem Jesika for women's individual aerobic gymnastics; Okram Umajit for men's individual aerobic gymnastics; Mutum Romesh and RK Thoithoilembi for mixed pair; Anjori Pangambam, Maliyani Konsam and Leishillembi Chabungbam for trio.
Furthermore, Ch Prithibilal has been tasked to coach  the artistic gymnasts while N Ranjita will coach the aerobic gymnasts. W Inaocha was in the meantime named team manager.
