5th Chandranadi Trophy Sana FC, HFC confirm quarterfinal berths

IMPHAL, Jan 18 : Sana FC, Thoubal and HFC, Hiyangthang secured crucial Group D and Group E victories to assure themselves quarterfinal spots in the ongoing 5th Chandranadi Trophy at Haoreibi Kangjeibung.
In the second group D match of the tournament, Sana FC who played out a goalless draw ith Old Star, Kyamgei in the previous match romped 6-0 pat Bungcha FC, Langthabal Kunja to finish group campaign brightly and go top of the table temporarily. Naofet starred in Sana FC's big win scoring thrice (25', 30', 34') while Rahul (10'), Shitaljit (25+2') and Dilbagh (35') added a goal apiece.
Later in the day, Hiyangthang FC (HFC) rode on goals from S Rojit (1') and H Premjit (12') to knock out Haoreibi Apunba FC-B 2-0.
With the win, Hiyangthang FC assured themselves a place in the quarterfinals with a match left to play with YDCL, Pungdongbam, who have also beaten Haoreibi Apunba FC-B in the previous match.
