Veteran Cricket : CYCLONE beat LCCC by 11 runs to reach semis

IMPHAL, Jan 18 : CYCLONE, Thangmeiband sealed an 11-run victory against LCCC, Lilong Chajing in the second quarterfinal match of the ongoing 21st Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2024-25.
Put in to bat first, CYCLONE were bundled out for 149 runs in 30 overs but their bowlers put in a concerted effort to dismantle LCCC for 138 runs in reply to seal the 11-run victory here at Langthabal Public Ground.
Rohindro shone with a 66-ball 56 for CYCLONE while Usham Robinson added 44 off 43 balls.
LCCC's Ashok Sorokhaibam (4/17 in 5 overs), Sagolsem Kison (3/36 in 6 overs) and Rigen Sagolsem (2/24) were instrumental in setting up CYCLONE's collapse at 149 but their batting department faltered badly in the chase were reduced to 138 all out in 27 overs.
L Bijen 35 and W Srinvash 23 were the leading run getters for LCCC in their innings that saw Rohindro Pheiroijam of CYCLONE returning with the best bowling figures of 3/16 in 5 overs.
S Tiken (2/25), W Surjit (2/26) and Lamnganba (2/20) of CYCLONE also chipped in with two wickets apiece.
Rohindro who starred with both the bat and ball was adjudged man of the match.
YWC-L will play NAPSA in the third quarterfinal match on January 20.
