Veteran Football : VFC knock out Sunday FC 4-0, to meet VSAI in semis

IMPHAL, Jan 17 : VFC, Singjamei overwhelmed hosts Sunday FC by 4-0 goals in the second quarterfinal match of the 4th Dr M Manaoton Singh and M Chandrasakhi Devi Memorial Masters Football Championship 2024-25 to set up a semi-final date with VSAI, Thangmeiband.
VFC produced a dominating performance from the word go and scored two goals each side of the break to notch up the 4-0 win today at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
It was Md Ashrab Ali who opened the scoring after 14 minutes before Majibur Rahaman Sheikh doubled the advantage (30+1') right before the break.
VFC picked up the game from where they left and rode on L Yumjao to extend the lead to 3-0 after 33 minutes before Md Ashrab Ali had his double in the 56th minute to settle the game 4-0.
VFC will now play VSAI, who outlasted TBSFA, Taobungkhok 6-7 in the first quarterfinal match yesterday, in the semi-final.
FLAK will play FLAM, Yaiskul in the third quarterfinal match tomorrow before EMVFC take on UVSA in the fourth quarterfinal match on January 19.
