CRPF conducts first aid training course

IMPHAL, Jan 17 : The 109 Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) under the aegis of IG, Manipur & Nagaland Sector CRPF, successfully conducted a comprehensive first aid training course at Raj Bhawan, Imphal.
The training course was conducted in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) for personnel of 109 Bn CRPF from January 14 to 17, 2025.
According to a release issued by CRPF, the three-day course aimed to equip CRPF personnel with essential life-saving skills.
The training programme was conducted by a team of IRCS, Imphal West District Branch consisting of Dr Bankim Chandra Thokchom (Master trainer), Ng Paris, Khangenba, Suhani Maisnam, Hijam Roshni Kumar and W Leo.
The training programme covered critical first aid techniques, including wound management, bleeding control, and basic life support.
Experienced instructors from the IRCS conducted the training sessions, providing hands-on practice and real-life scenario-based exercises.
25 personnel from the CRPF camp participated in the course, demonstrating their commitment to enhance their emergency response capabilities.
At the closing ceremony, Brijesh Kumar, Commandant of 109 Bn CRPF briefed the personnel about the requisite of first aid course and its importance in their day to day affairs.
"First aid is a critical skill that can make a significant difference in emergency situations. We are committed to ensuring our personnel are equipped to respond effectively in such situations", he added.
The Commandant also thanked the team from IRCS for running the capsule course in their premises.
