Football : VSAI beat TBSFA in penalty shoot-out to enter semis

IMPHAL, Jan 16: VSAI beat TBSFA FC 8-7 to enter the semifinals of the 4th Master Dr Moirangthem Manaoton Singh and M Chandrasakhi Devi Memorial Football Championship 2024 today.
TBSFA FC succumbed to a penalty shoot-out following a 1-1 draw with VSAI.
At the Artificial Turf Ground Lamlong Thongkhong, TBSFA FC had an early lead with Th Krishnatombi scoring one in the match's 6th minute.
The lead, however, didn't last long as S Rajendro found an equalizer for VSAI in the 44th minute.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw forcing a penalty shoot-out.
In the penalty shoot-out, VSAI outperformed TBSFA FC with 7-6 goals.
K Khelen, Kh Ratan, Th Bhuben, Th Somendro, M Shymajit, H Imo and S Rajendro scored goals for VSAI.
G Patilung, M Shyamsunder, Th Krishnatombi, Ch Tello, Md Salamud and Th Bhubonchandra scored goals for TBSFA FC.
Match tomorrow
VFC will play against Sunday in the 2nd quarterfinal match of the championship tomorrow at 1.30 pm.
