Road Safety programme lined up

IMPHAL, Jan 15 : A one-day media sensitization programme on National Road Safety Month 2025 will be held on January 16 at Loktak Hall of Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul at 10 am.
During the programme jointly organised by the All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) and the Directorate of Transport, a camp will be conducted  wherein media persons can apply for or renew their driving license, pay taxes, apply for green card and transfer of ownership of vehicles, said a press release issued by AMWJU.
The documents required to apply for a new driving license are age proof certificate (matric/birth certificate/PAN card/passport), address proof (Aadhaar card) and blood group certificate. Individuals above 50 years of age also need to submit a certificate of medical fitness issued by an MO to renew or apply for a new driving license.
To transfer the ownership of a vehicle, the applicants need to submit the sale deed, chassis print and identity cards of both the buyer and seller.
Participants will get an opportunity to interact with expert Government officials on other relevant subjects, said AMWJU.
