National Sepaktakraw C'ship Regu event Women bow out in QF, men suffer semi-final exit

IMPHAL, Jan 13 : Manipur regu team suffered semi-final exit in the ongoing 34th Senior National Sepaktakraw Championship as women ended their campaign in the quarterfinal.
Manipur regu team managed to dominate the league stage  by defeating the All India Police team, Gujarat, Nagaland, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand (walkover win) before defeating SSB in straight sets today in the quarterfinal.
They however lost 15-10, 7-15, 13-15 in the semi-final to Delhi in the semi-final to finish third.
Meanwhile, the women's regu team suffered a 17-14, 12-15, 13-15 in the quarterfinal to the All India Police team.
Earlier in the league stage, Manipur defeated Goa, Haryana, Maharashtra and West Bengal in straight sets and got walkover wins against Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh to qualify for the quarterfinals.
The day also saw Manipur men's quad team opening their winning account by defeating Uttarakhand 15-1, 15-9.
