Veteran Cricket Tournament CYCLONE beat BKCC by 3 wickets to complete league stage sweep

IMPHAL, Jan 13 : CYCLONE, Thangmeiband finished Group A league campaign in the ongoing 21st Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament with four of four wins by posting a three wicket win against BKCC, Bamon Kampu today.
BKCC who had won twice in the last three matches won the toss and opted to bat first this morning at Langthabal Public Ground. They however were bundled out for 108/9 in 27 overs with Bijoy retiring hurt on 2 as CYCLONE's bowling trio of Dhanendrajit, L Khoga and W Surjit shared 8 wickets among them.
CYCLONE then eased to the target in 18 overs with three wickets left to spare thanks to major contributions from Shashi Kumar 20, W Surjit 20 and Rohindro 17 despite Kongkham Sushil (3/28) and Md Riyajuddin (2/46) trying their best to derail the chase by sharing 5 wickets. T Lenin (1/25) and Bocha (1/3) of BKCC also chipped in with a wicket apiece.
For BKCC, Kongkham Sushil 23, Leishangthem Johnson 18, T Lenin 16 not out, and Okram Suraj 13 were the leading run getters in the innings that saw Dhanendrajit returning with the best figures of 3/18 in 6 overs. L Khoga also enjoyed a three wicket haul (3/27) for CYCLONE as W Surjit picked two wickets (2/19) and Sudhir picked one (1/20).
Dhanendrajit who led the CYCLONE bowling attack was adjudged man of the match.
YWC, Langthabal will play YPHU, Lalambung in the next match tomorrow.
