Two remanded

IMPHAL, Jan 12 : The Duty Magistrate of Imphal West has remanded the two persons who were arrested from Bir Tikendrajit International Airport along with 31.680 Kg of ganja yesterday to police custody till January 21.
Of the two arrestees, one is a former State secretary of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), a youth wing of the BJP.
The two persons who have been identified as Rojit Chongtham (34), s/o Mobimacha of Singjamei Chongtham Leikai currently staying at Tera Lukram Leirak and Sarangthem Dingku (25), s/o Ingocha of Kakching Khunou Thingam Bokul Leikai were arrested during the screening of luggages at the Airport.
Rojit is the former State secretary of BJYM.
The duo was trying to board an Indigo flight to New Delhi.
They (the accused) were produced before the Duty Magistrate today by a team of Singjamei police with a prayer to send them to police custody for investi- gation which the Court agreed.
