IW 3rd Divn Football league NBCA, TSFA emerge table toppers

IMPHAL, Jan 12 : NBCA, Takyel Khongbal and TSFA, Top Siphai emerged Group A and B winners in the ongoing 6th Sh Mani Sharma Memorial 3rd Division Football League.
The fourth-tier tournament is being organised by the Imphal West District Football Association at PAMYAL ground, Patsoi.
NBCA were held to a 3-3 draw by KYDC, Kiyam in their ultimate Group A match. With the result, NBCA finished unbeaten on 10 points off 4 matches while KYDC could amass only 3 points off three draws.
KYDC, having drawn twice and lost once in the last three previous games, had a positive start and led the first half 2-1 thanks to goals from Md Abu Salam (7') and S Amarjit (18') before P Kishan pulled one back during the added time (40+1') for NBCA.
After the restart, the game shifted in favour of runaway Group A winners NBCA as P Kishan completed his double in the 49th minute to square the game 2-2 before his compatriot David made the most of a chance in the 63rd minute to turn the game on their heads.
NBCA also completed their league stage sweep as KYDC kept struggling but K Paris foiled their bid by scoring the equaliser for KYDC late in the 80th minute.
Later in a Group B match, Ch Aras Khan scored twice to set up TSFA a 3-0 win over UYPA, Kha Jiri.
With the win, TSFA emerged runaway Group B winners with 9 points from four matches.
TSFA, who had won twice and drawn once, were off to a slow start and entered the break with a 1-0 lead courtesy of Ch Aras Khan's 30th minute strike.
Ch Aras was at it again in the 56th minute to further extend the lead before Kh Musharaf hit the final nail to the coffin in the 63rd minute.
