IMPHAL, Jan 12: Manipur Police on X has refuted NSCN (IM)'s allegation of Superintendent of Ukhrul police colluding with Kuki militants.
The press release of the NSCN (IM) claiming that Ukhrul SP was aiding Kuki militants and the news published by media outlets are blatantly false, said the Manipur Police X handle in a post.
"Based on a request from the BSF and Kangpokpi District police, as well as directives from Police Headquarters, Ukhrul district police gave police guides to the BSF team travelling to Molham Kuki Village on 12/12/24 and again on 19th December Ukhrul District Police gave security escorts to trucks carrying labourers and materials for the construction of security barracks in Molham Kuki village, which will house BSF coys," said the post.
Posting or publishing such unverified facts is wrong and it tarnishes the image of Ukhrul District Police and reputation of the SP, the post read.
Appeal is hereby made to all to verify facts before putting things in public domain during these sensitive times when efforts are being made from all fronts to bring peace and restore normalcy in the State, said the Manipur Police.
Notably, the NSCN (IM) had alleged that the Central Government was sustaining Kuki militants, and the SP Ukhrul was providing them truckloads of materials including rice, tin sheets and "concealed items".
