Guv, CM, others greet on Gaan-Ngai

IMPHAL, Jan 11: Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Chief Minister N Biren Singh led others in greeting the people of Manipur, especially the Zeliangrong community on Gaan-Ngai.
"I convey my greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur, particularly our Zeliangrong brethren on the joyous and auspicious occasion of Gaan Ngai, 2025... Let us all join the celebration of Gaan Ngai in a spirit of friendship and brotherhood with traditional gaiety and devotion and ring in the New Year for a peaceful and prosperous Mani- pur," said the Governor in his message to the people.
Gaan-Ngai, the biggest cultural and religious post-harvest festival of the Zel- iangrong community marks the heralding of the New Year. During the festival, the community shows their gratitude, with offerings to the Almighty for the good harvest and also prays for a better and prosperous life in the coming year, said CM in his message.
"May the festival shower goodwill and happiness, and spread the message of unity, peace, and brotherhood amongst all communities of the State," said the CM.
MAHUD Minister Yumnam Khemchand, and many other civil bodies including All Manipur Ethnic Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) too greeted the people.
