HPC(D) cadre arrested with explosives in Jiribam

IMPHAL, Jan 11 : Security forces arrested one cadre of Hmar People’s Convention (Democratic), a signatory of Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact, from Tuisolen village under Borobekra police station in Jiribam district.
The cadre identified as Lalchoullo (48) of Lungthullien village, Pherzawl district was arrested by Jiribam district police and 38 Assam Rifle along with explosives and drug from the bank of Barak River on Janaury 9 under different Sections of NDPS Act .
According to well placed sources, 20 explosive sticks, 11 detonators, safety fuse (one metre) and 44 soap cases containing brown sugar weighing around 457 grams were seized from the militant.
Meanwhile, the Duty Magistrate, Jiribam has remanded Lalchoullo to police custody till January 16.
He was produced before the Duty Magistrate with a prayer to send him to police custody for investigation.
According to police, the militant was detained at Tuisolen as he was moving in a suspicious manner.
Duty Magistrate, after hearing the submission of the IO of the case and on perusal of the case record, remanded the accused in police custody till January 16.
