Many extend Emoinu greetings

IMPHAL, Jan 10 : Many organisations in the State have conveyed heartfelt greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Emoinu Iratpa Numit and Gaan Ngai festival, which falls on January 11 and 12 respectively.
Sending warm wishes to the people, especially the Kabui/Rongmei community, the Naga People's Union and Core Committee on Relief & Rehabilitation Manipur Valley have appealed to the public and all concerned organisations to refrain from imposing bandhs or strikes during the celebration period of the Gaan Ngai festival from January 12 to 19.
The two organisations have also called for peace, harmony and unity on the joyous occasion of Gaan Ngai.  
Extending best wishes to the Meetei and Kabui community, United Committee Manipur (UCM) expressed hope that Emoinu Iratpa Numit and Gaan Ngai festival will bring peace, harmony, abundance, long life and strengthen the bonds between the indigenous communities of the State.
Meanwhile, International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) has urged womenfolk of the State to learn valuable lessons from the story of Ema Emoinu and uplift the status of women in Manipur.
Highlighting the close relationship shared by the Meetei and Kabui community,  IPSA conveyed Gaan Ngai greetings with wishes for resolution of the conflict, peace and development in Manipur.
