Emoinu greetings pour in

IMPHAL, Jan 10 : Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Chief Minister N Biren, Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Satyabrata, MAHUD Minister Y Khemchand and Education Minister Th Basanta Kumar have conveyed their greetings to the people on the eve of Ema Emoinu Iratpa.
In a message, the Governor said that it is gratifying to note that the Meetei people observe Ema Emoinu Iratpa to mark the return of the Meitei deity to the residence of her daughter-in-law Piyainu.
Saying that Ema Emoinu Iratpa is celebrated across the State with fervour, Ajay Bhalla  prayed for peace and prosperity in Manipur.
Chief Minister N Biren said that Ema Emoinu Iratpa is celebrated with traditional gaiety and religious fervour by offering seasonal fruits, vegetables and fishes.
"As we celebrate the festival, let us seek the blessings of the Goddess for peace and prosperity and to follow the right path in the coming years. Let us also join hands and work harder to make a self-reliant Manipur and move ahead at a faster pace of  development," the Chief Minister appealed.
Speaker Th Satyabrata, while extending his greetings, said that Ema Emoinu is considered as the Goddess of hearth, family, wealth, peace, fertility, wisdom and prosperity in Meitei mythology.
"Let this Ema Emoinu Iratpa bring abundant wealth and prosperity to all families irrespective of caste, creed and religion in our society", Khemchand prayed in his greetings.
He also prayed for lasting love and peace in Manipur  on the occasion.
Education Minister Th Basanta Kumar said that Ema Emoinu is depicted as the guardian of household and hearth emphasising the importance of family unity and domestic harmony.
Extending his greetings, the  Minister said that the worship of Ema Emoinu is deeply embedded in the cultural fabric of  Manipur.
May the blessing of Ema Emoinu Ahongbi  bring peace, prosperity and happiness to every household, he prayed.
