Training programme concludes at Panthoibi Arcade

IMPHAL, Jan 10 : A 5-day training programme for "Weave Pattern Designs and Implementation under National Handloom Development Programme (NHDP)" concluded today at  Panthoibi Arcade, Wangkhei, Imphal.
The training programme was organised by the Directorate of Handlooms & Textiles, Government of Manipur.
The closing function was graced by E Jeeten, Managing Director, Manipur Handloom and Handicraft Development Co-operation Limited (MHHDCL); Th Basanta Singh, Deputy Director (Handloom), Directorate of Handlooms & Textiles and Yumnam Kirani Singh, Scientist-E,   Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Kolkata as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, E Jeeten said that the MHHDCL knows the condition of weavers at the grassroot level and has been making efforts to build capacity in the handloom & textile sector.
"Proposals have been sent to the Government to implement various programmes to provide technical & soft skill training to help create employment in textile and related sectors", he added.
Th Basanta expressed hope that the training programme will be hugely beneficial to the designers and weavers of the State.
National Awardee (Handloom), Kangujam Modhu was also present at the event.
