Raising concerns regarding the recent transfer and posting order issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Personnel Division) Manipur on September 5, the Island Block Development Organisation (IBDO) has highlighted the necessity of appointing a neutral Sub-Divisional Officer for Lhungtin & Island Block.
The press release issued by Ramnganing Jajo, president, IBDO stated that one Samuel Misao, MCS has been assigned as the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) and Block Development Officer (BDO) for Lhungtin & Island Block.
Stating that Island Block under Kangpokpi district is predominantly inhabited by the Naga community, the IBDO has expressed concerns that Samuel Misao's appointment may lead to challenges in effective administration due to potential communal sensitivities, given the specific demographic and cultural dynamics of the region.
Thus, the Island Block Development Organisation has pointed out the need of appointing a neutral SDO who can navigate the diverse socio-political landscape of the Island Block.
Such an appointment would ensure that administrative duties are carried out effectively and equitably, without encountering communal barriers that might undermine public trust and governance, added the IBDO press release.
