IMPHAL, Sep 8: The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has temporarily withdrawn its public emergency from schools, colleges and market places.
A statement issued by COCOMI said that the public emergency was announced considering the insecurity of the people in the backdrop of the drone bombing at Koutruk and Kadangband on September 1 and September 2 and long range rocket attack at Moirang Bazar on September 6.
However, taking due note of the appeals made by several organisations and considering the adverse impacts of closing markets on poor families, the COCOMI has decided to lift the public emergency temporarily from schools, colleges and market places, it said.
Nonetheless, it appealed to all the people living in red zones to remain alert.
