IMPHAL, Sep 8 : A public meeting was held at Khumbong, Imphal West district on Sunday to discuss the recent surge of violence and prevailing law & order situation of Manipur.
The meeting organised by local clubs and Meira Paibis of Kumbong area began with the observation of one minute silence to pay respect to the brave heroes who gave their lives in the ongoing conflict which began on May 3, 2023.
During the meeting, the participants resolved to unite all the local clubs and Meira Paibis of periphery areas to fight and defend the State from the aggression of Kuki-Narco terrorists.
The meeting appealed to the State Government to deploy an adequate number of State Forces in the peripheral areas to protect the villagers from the drone attacks and high-tech warfare of the Kuki-Narco terrorist.
The meeting cautioned that if the Government does not take immediate action to end the aggression of Kuki-Narco terrorists at the earliest, people of the State will be compelled to demand pre-merger status of Manipur .
The meeting resolved to demand the release of relief & compensation packages assured earlier by the Government for the conflict affected people.
The meeting also urged all concerned to refrain from making excessive monetary demand from the people who are already reeling due to the prolonged conflict.
Further, the gathering unanimously resolved to submit a memorandum listing all the resolutions taken during the meeting to the Governor and other relevant authorities.
