Lumenis Pulse 120-Watt Holmium Laser machine inaugurated at RIMS

Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), inaugurated a Lumenis Pulse 120-Watt Holmium Laser machine for the Department of Urology at OT Complex, RIMS, Imphal today.
According to a release issued by RIMS, the inaugural function was graced by Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital; Prof Ak Kaku Singh, Head of Urology Department, RIMS; doctors, faculties, staff and students of RIMS, Imphal.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof G Sunil Kumar stated that the Lumenis Pulse 120-Watt Holmium Laser machine is a groundbreaking and advanced High-Power Laser machine equipped with MOSES technology.
He asserted that a total of 15 machines have been installed across the country and RIMS, Imphal is the first to install the Lumenis Pulse 120-Watt Holmium Laser machine in the North East.
He continued that the machine has a more efficient energy delivery mechanism, increased efficiency and comprehensive versatility of Urology operations than other machines.
He also said that the machine will be hugely beneficial in the removal of enlarged Prostate tissue using Laser Beam and endoscopy in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) patients.
