State Level Basketball C'ships: YOSC boys and girls take sub-junior crowns

IMPHAL, Sep 6 : YOSC, Khurai were crowned both the boys and girls winners in the 37th Sub-Junior Boys and Girls State Level Basketball Championship hosted by the Manipur Basketball Association at Brahmapur Nahabam Basketball Court.
In the girls' title clash staged this evening, YOSC girls notched up a huge 36-9 victory over RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya. Khushi led the scoring for the Khurai team adding 18 points alone as Odisika (8 pts), Tanushree (6 pts) and Lanchenbi (4 pts) made up the rest to set up the huge win.
Inunganbi, meanwhile, scored highest 7 points for the runners up as Rupashree scored 2.
Meanwhile in the boys final staged later in the day, YOSC boys pulled off a 48-40 win over Model Club, Chingamakha to seal the top honour.
Bidyaraj starred in the match scoring 21 points. Ngangkham also managed a double digit score for the winners collecting 13 points as Lanchenba scored 6 points, and Lanchenba and Roosevelt scored 4 points apiece.
Th Sotinchandra (12 pts) and Gison Th (10 pts), Achom Phoenix (8 pts) and Shatish A (8 pts) and Waikhom Yohenba (2 pts) got their names on the scoresheet for Model Club.
