PUBG FC, ANAS FC win in 3rd Paona Memorial football tourney

IMPHAL, Sep 5 : PUBG FC, Angtha and ANAS FC Kyamgei emerged victorious as EEO-B, Lamding and Sangaiyumpham FC played out a goalless draw in today's matches of the ongoing 3rd Paona Memorial 9-a-side Football Tournament organised by EEO Lamding at its ground.
In the Group C match staged this afternoon, PUBG FC who have registered a draw and a win in the last two matches sealed a slender 1-0 win over PSWAS, Sangaiyumpham thanks to a 38th minute goal from T Likson.
EEO-B, Lamding and Sangaiyumpham FC meanwhile played out a goalless draw in a Group B fixture staged later.
With the result, Sangaiyumpham FC ended their campaign on top of Group B table with 7 points for the time being from two wins and a draw while EEO-B are trailing with 4 points off three matches.
Later in the Group D match, ANAS FC edged 2-1 past Lucky Boys for the second win in three matches thanks to goals from Doly (8 pts) and Akipalam (9'). Manglemba in the meantime scored the only goal for Lucky boys in the 15th minute.
With the result, ANAS FC finished their campaign on 7 points to hold the pole position of Group D temporarily with it was second successive loss in three games for Lucky boys after securing first game win.
