Biramangol College protests

IMPHAL, Sep 4: Teachers, non-teaching staff and students of Biramangol College, Sawombung staged a protest demonstration today against unbearable monetary demands from different quarters.
Biramangol College Teachers’ Association president Takhelmayum Gambhir said that all sections of people have been suffering a lot on account of the violent crisis which has been gripping the State since May 3, 2023.
The teaching fraternity understands the contributions of village volunteers, Government authorities and the people in defending Manipur. Biramangol College too made contributions, he said.
But it is a matter of grave concern that unbearable monetary demands are being served every now and then to the teachers and non-teaching staff of Biramangol College, Gambhir said.
“These demands have turned out to be a big burden to us”, he said. He then appealed to all concerned to spare educational institutes from such disturbances.
The protest demonstration also condoled the woman who was killed in drone-propelled bombing by Kuki terrorists at Koutruk and Kadangband on September 1. The protesters also prayed for speedy recovery of the injured terror victims.
