I-League 3 : SSU go down 1-2 to Charutar Vidya Mandal FC

IMPHAL, Sep 3 : Debutants Southern Sporting Union (SSU) suffered a 1-2 loss at the hands of Charutar Vidya Mandal FC in the opening (Group E) match of the I-League 3 this afternoon at TRC turf in Srinagar.
SSU took a slender 1-0 first half lead courtesy of Laishram Kishan's 12th minute strike but Charutar Vidya Mandal FC based in Gujarat drew level through Moinuddin in the 50th minute before Dainik Patel came off the bench two minutes into the stoppage time and clinched the winner within two minutes of his entry.
The Manipur outfit toiled hard to come to level terms in the dying minutes but Charutar Vidya Mandal FC managed to soak up the late pressure and walked away with all three points.
SSU will face Corbett FC of Rudrapur, Uttarakhand in the next match on September 5 at the same football turf. The match starts at 9 am.
