IMPHAL, Sep 29: Asserting that Central forces and State forces can rescue both Oinam Thoithoi and Thokchom Thoithoiba if they wish, the COCOMI has urged the security forces to take the responsibility of rescuing the youths who are currently in the custody of Kuki Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists.
The abduction of Oinam Thoithoi, Thokchom Thoi-thoiba and Ningombam Johnson by Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists as they went to attend an army recruitment physical test was a result of security forces not doing their duty properly, the COCOMI said in a statement.
It said that the Central Government and the State Government must bear responsibility for any untoward incident resulting from the abduction.
It asked why the Central forces and the State forces watched silently when the three innocent youths who came to attend army recruitment test were abducted and taken away by Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists.
It further asked as to why the Staff Selection Commission held the army recruitment test in a red zone if they could not protect innocent citizens who came to take part in the test.
Noting that Ningomban Johnson has been rescued by Central forces, the COCOMI said that security forces can learn valuable inputs from him on the possible locations of Oinam Thoithoi and Thokchom  Thoithoiba.
It also questioned the Government of India’s silence even after Kuki terrorists fired long range rockets and bombed civilian population from high-tech drones for the first time in India.
Urging both the Central Government and the State Government to secure safe release of both Oinam Thoithoi and Thokchom Thoithoiba at the earliest, the COCOMI warned that they would not remain silent if the two youths cannot be rescued.
