IMPHAL, Sep 28: NPP Manipur unit president N Kayisii is said to be in favour of withdrawing the party’s support to the BJP Govern-ment of Manipur.
NPP held a meeting at Radisson Blu Hotel, Guwa-hati on Friday on the ques- tion of whether the party should continue its support to the BJP Government or pull out of the Government.
Although NPP Manipur unit president N Kayisii was   not present at the meeting due to medical reasons, he sent a letter to NPP National vice-president Y Joykumar.
In his letter, N Kayisii expressed desire for NPP to withdraw its support to the Biren-led BJP Government, sources said.
Speaking at the meeting, NPP MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan stated that the party’s image will be tarnished severely and the people’s faith in the party would get eroded if the party continues its support to the BJP Government. He asserted NPP will receive greater public support if it withdraws its support from the BJP Govt as soon as possible.
In the same vein, most members of the NPP State executive committee who took part in the meeting spoke in favour of withdrawing support from the BJP Government.
Sources said that NPP National president Conrad Sangma is most likely to take a concrete decision at the NPP national executive council meeting scheduled on October 5 at New Delhi in favour of withdrawing the party’s support from the Biren-led BJP Government.
