National Wushu ChampionshipManipur win 16 medals, Arunachal Pradesh emerge overall champions

IMPHAL, Sep 26: Manipur won a total of 16 medals in the 33rd Senior National Wushu Championship held at Maharana Pratap Stadium, Raipur, Dehradun.
The 16 medals include 3 gold, 5 silver and 8 bronze.
On the last day of the championship today, Manipur  won 1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze.
In the Taolu Traditional Single Weapon event, Thingnam Sandeshwori Chanu won a gold medal.
In the men's doubles event, Salam Marshal Singh, Gurumayum Devesh Sharma and Nongmeithem Malemnganba Singh won a silver.
In the Sanda 65 Kg category for men, Hamom Sanayaima won a bronze.
In the 56 Kg category, Athokpam James Meitei won a bronze.
In the 48 Kg category for women, Khwairakpam Chaoba Devi  won a bronze.

Kangjam Monish Singh won a silver in Taijiquan
Waribam Sylvia Devi won bronze in the Traditional Taijiquan

Leimapokpam Nelson Singh won bronze in Jianshu
Kangjam Monish Singh won bronze in Taijiquan
Gurumayum Devesh Sharma won a silver in Nanquan
Tongbram Maya Devi won a silver in Changquan
Salam Marshal Singh won a bronze in Changquan
Arunachal Pradesh claimed the overall championship title with an impressive seven gold medals, while the All India Police Team and the Services Sports Control Board finished in second and third place, respectively, at the 33rd Senior National Wushu Championship.
The All India Police Team secured five gold medals, while the Services Sports Control Board followed closely with four golds.
Rajasthan claimed the top position, while Uttar Pradesh and SSCB finished second and third respectively in the Sanda category at the Maharana Pratap Indoor Stadium.
In the Taolu category, Arunachal Pradesh secured first place, while All India Police and Services team claimed second and third spot.
Around 1500 players and officials from 44 units participated in this championship, which started on September 21.
