MLA clarifies on scheduled meet of NPP

IMPHAL, Sep 25: The National People's Party meeting on September 27 at Guwahati will strictly discuss the law and order situation in Manipur only. It will not touch the party's ties with the BJP, said NPP MLA Khuraijam Loken.
The meeting will be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati on September 27. NPP MLAs and the party's executive members will attend the meeting.
NPP National president and Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma will chair the meeting,  said MLA Loken.
The meeting has been called by the party president and a notification for this was issued from Shillong on September 21, he said.
The MLA stated that the NPP as a responsible party will discuss the Manipur conflict in the meeting and the law and order situation prevailing in the State.
In the meeting, the NPP leadership, party MLAs from Manipur and State executive members will discuss the conflict and its impact on the people.
The meeting, as clearly stated in the notification, will mull ways and means the party could adopt to contribute towards bringing peace in Manipur, he said.
The meeting will not discuss the NPP's ties and issues related to support to the BJP, he added.
