Protest continues

IMPHAL, Sep 25: Locals of Haoreibi continued to stage sit-in protests today demanding justice for Bashanti and Lanchenbi, the mother and daughter duo who were found dead under mysterious circumstances recently.
Ningombam Bashanti (40) and her 7-year-old daughter, Lanchenbi were found dead inside their home on September 23.
The postmortem of the bodies has been conducted at RIMS, however, the bodies will not be claimed until the clues and truth about their death is known, said the Joint Action Committee which organised the protest at Haoreibi community hall today.
Demanding swift investigation to ascertain the true nature of the deaths, the JAC said the Chief Minister should convert his promises into action at the earliest.
Notably, the JAC had submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister in presence of local MLA Karam Shyam yesterday.
