Stage set for 18th DSA trophy semi-finals

IMPHAL, Sep 24 : The semi-final line up of the 18th DSA Trophy Football Tournament was completed today with UCC, Kakching defeating AKSA, Kakching Khunou in a 5-goal quarter-final thriller today at DSA Kakching playground.
A Ruben gave AKSA the lead early in the second minute but M Devaraj put UCC on level terms scoring the equaliser in the 17th minute.
UCC completed the turnaround after 21 minutes with M Nobinchandra scoring another goal for the team before M Devaraj converted a penalty to further extend the lead to 3-1 in the 32nd minute.
AKSA struggled to reduce the gap in the second half and managed to pull back a goal through Th Tomthinganba in the 73rd minute but their comeback effort did not pay off as UCC defence did well to thwart all threatening moves in the later part of the game.
UCC will now face SWC-Waikhong in the second semi-final match after SWC-Keirak face YWU, Kakching in the first semi-final match.
