29th L Sangita Memorial 1st Division Football League gets underway

IMPHAL, Sep 24 : The 29th edition of L Sangita Memorial 1st Division Football League kicked off today at PAMYAL ground under the aegis of the Imphal West District Football Association.
8 teams clubbed into two groups are participating in the tournament.
The opening match (Group A) of the tournament saw NC Club, Khonghampat playing out a 2-2 draw with KAN, Kadangband.
Kh Imanuel (25') and I Deepak (40') scored to hand NC Club a commanding 2-0 lead but N Romen (43') and Y Rennedy (83') scored to lead the KAN fightback and eventually salvaged a 2-2 draw.
YWC-Malom edge PAMYAL 2-1
The day also saw YWC, Malom kicking off their Group B campaign with a 2-1 win over PAMYAL, Patsoi courtesy of a brace from Kh Loyalakpa.
Kh Loyalakpan earned YWC-M a narrow 1-0 first half lead with an 18th minute strike before doubling the advantage in the 66th minute. PAMYAL however fought back and halved the deficit through W Rojen in the 73rd minute but they failed to sustain their momentum and draw level. YWC-M eventually walked away with the 2-1 win.
SCK, Kodompokpi will play YAC, Yaiskul in the second Group A match on September 26 from 12.30 pm before Juvenile, Tera meet BMSC, Taobungkhok in the second Group B match from 2.30 pm later in the day.
