One collapses, dies

IMPHAL, Sep 24: A 50-year old man fainted near Hotel Airlines, MG Avenue this afternoon and he was declared brought dead at RIMS.
According to police, the incident happened at around 1.50 pm when one Sanglakpam Joy alias Nerupama Sharma s/o (L) S Dijamani of Thangmeiband Meisnam Leikai fainted all of sudden on the road in front of the gate of Imphal Urban Cooperative Bank, MG Avenue.
Soon after, Joy alias Nerupama was taken to RIMS Hospital for treatment by a team of City police station but the doctors declared that he was already dead.
The dead body has been deposited at RIMS morgue for post mortem.
Meanwhile, City police station has registered an UD case in connection with the incident.
Notably, Joy alias Nerupama was rescued and handed over to Sekmai police station on April 8, 2024 when he tried to cross Kanglatongbi checkpost manned jointly by 22 Assam Rifles, BSF and Manipur Police and move towards Motbung on his bicycle.
