Woman, daughter found dead

IMPHAL, Sep 23: A 48 year old woman was found dead on her bed along with her four year old daughter at Haoreibi Mayai Leikai, Seram Leirak, Imphal West under Wangoi police station at around 5 am today.
The deceased woman has been identified as Ningombam (N) Adhikarimayum (O) Basanti (48) w/o A Thoiba.
Basanti has one sister but no male sibling. Her parents died when she was quite young.
Her husband A Thoiba hailed from Bamon Leikai but he was staying at Basanti’s place before he died about 16 months back.
After inspection of the room where the woman and her daughter were found dead, the bodies have been taken to RIMS mortuary for post mortem.
It is not yet clear whether it is a case of suicide or murder.
Although signs of nose bleeding could be seen on both the mother and the daughter, no external injuries could be seen, sources said.
