SFC win 5-3 as IW Super Division Football League kicks off

IMPHAL, Sep 23 : Sainik Football Club (SFC), Tera registered a commanding 5-3 win over Social Development Club (SDC), Samurou as the 24th edition of the Super Division Football League, 2024-25 kicked off at PAMYAL ground, Patsoi Part II under the aegis of Imphal West District Football Association.
SFC started strongly and entered into the break with a 3-1 advantage before securing the 5-3 victory at the end thanks to a double from Jeetlee Bura.
SDC drew first blood after 16 minutes with H Rakhesh finding the back of the net but SFC drew level the very next minute riding on Jetlee Bura's opening strike.
SFC then overturned the lead in the 29th minute through S Nobel before Jims Raikhan doubled the advantage two minutes into the added time before the break.
The scoring spree for SFC continued with S Tabronyu finding the team's fourth in the 50th minute before SDC rallied back and pulled back two goals riding on H Rakhesh (60') and Jack (74').
SDC however failed to sustain their momentum and saw Jetlee Bura score his second against them and eventually SFC wrapped up the game 5-3.
Young Union Club (YUC), Irom Meijrao will play Chajing Inat Kanba Lup (CHIKL), Lilong Chajing in the next match on September 25 from 12.30 pm at PAMYAL ground before Khurkhul Youth Club (KYC), Khurkhul North play Imphal Football Club (IFC), Lamphel in the third match from 2.30 pm.
