Stick to limits : Traffic Police to school vans

IMPHAL, Sep 23: Citing an advisory issued by the Transport Department on September 22, 2015 regarding the maximum limit of students allowed in school vehicles along with other conditions, the Traffic Control Police Wing has urged all schools and school vehicle associations to adhere to the maximum number of students limit.
Schools and school vehicle associations must strictly enforce and adhere to the specified student limits in school vehicles as prescribed by the Transport Department.
According to the Transport Department’s advisory, no vehicle belonging to or in use for any educational institute shall seat children in excess of 1.5 times of its registered capacity.
A press release issued by SP, Traffic Control Police Wing Pramesh Arambam said that Traffic Control Police Wing will take up strong actions against all those school vehicle drivers who do not comply with the prescribed seating capacity.
