Committee denounces 'gross injustice'

IMPHAL, Sep 22 : Denouncing the alleged wrongful termination of some people from the Administrative Committees of Gram Panchayats, Imphal West's Administrative Committee Chairperson Laishram Body has asserted that he will lodge a complaint in the Court against the gross injustice.
Speaking to media persons today at Khonghampat, L Body lamented the dismissal of some Members from the Administrative Committee and raised questions over the legality of the dismissal/ termination.
He alleged that 64 Members were removed from the Administrative Committee on September 20 by the Imphal West Deputy Commissioner without giving any prior information or reason for the dismissal.
"The next day, an order was issued by the DC appointing new Members of the Administrative Committee in violation of the Manipur Panchayati Raj Act", he alleged.
He continued that the Members of the Administrative Committee who have been unfairly dismissed have resolved to approach the Court to seek justice.
Further, L Boby appealed to the Government and authorities concerned to look into the matter and take necessary action against all involved in this gross violation of the law.
