'Manipur Red Run 2' marathon held

IMPHAL, Sep 22 : The "Manipur Red Run 2" marathon was successfully held on Sunday in Imphal, organised by Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MACS) to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS through various activities especially among the youths.
The 10 km marathon for students of the age group 17 to 25 years was flagged off from Kangla Western Gate by Haobam Rosita, Project Director, MACS.
In the male category, Konthoujam Somorjit Singh, Yumnam Arjit Meetei and Thotgacheirin Humphun Leiyi won the 1st, 2nd & 3rd position respectively.
In the female category, Tayenjam Russian Chanu, Thangjam Maria Chanu and Togbram Sophiya Chanu stood 1st, 2nd & 3rd position respectively.
In the transgender category, Tanu Thokchom, Sadananda Wayengbam and Malemnganba Thongam stood 1st, 2nd & 3rd position respectively.
The winner of each category will participate in the National Red Run to be held in Goa in November.
In the 2 km Open Race, Nongmaithem Alex, Manaobi Singh and Mahen Salam stood 1st, 2nd & 3rd position respectively in male category while Neevia Laishram, Makakmayum Khalida Mastan and Nishamilet Ayekpam stood 1st, 2nd & 3rd position respectively in female category.
