IMPHAL, Sep 22: Reacting to Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh’s confirmation that around 900 trained Kuki terrorists have infiltrated Manipur from Myanmar, the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has accused the Central forces of conspiring with the Kuki terrorists.
A message purportedly sent by Secretary to Chief Minister Ningthoujam Geoffrey to the DGP on infiltration of 900 trained Kuki terrorists into Manipur was circulated in social media a few days back. People were confused whether the message was genuine or fake, the COCOMI said in a statement.
In the meantime, Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh held a press conference at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on September 20 and confirmed the message as genuine.
Had the more than 60,000 Central forces currently deployed in Manipur and the State’s 35,000 strong security personnel done their duties sincerely and efficiently, no Kuki terrorists could have infiltrated Manipur from Myanmar, the COCOMI said.
The way such a large number of Kuki terrorists infiltrated Manipur is such an easy manner only testified that the Central forces have been colluding with the Kuki terrorists, it alleged.
Even as Kuki terrorists have been infiltrating Manipur from Myanmar continuously and unleashing genocide upon the Meitei people since May 3, 2023, the Central forces have been acting as mute spectators.
Even though the Security Advisor has confirmed infiltration of 900 Kuki terrorists into Manipur who have been divided into groups of 30, he has not taken up any concrete measures till date to protect civilians from these terrorists and neutralise them, the COCOMI decried.
It went on to ask if the Security Advisor’s inaction is any indication of the Government of India’s conspiracy to disintegrate Manipur.
Earlier, the COCOMI informed the Government that a sizable number of Kuki terrorists had moved to Jiribam and they were poised to attack Meitei people but neither the Security Advisor nor the DGP took up any effective security measures.
As a result, Kuki terrorists unleashed terror at Jiribam and killed many people, it decried.
Had the Central forces and the State forces intercepted the 900 Kuki terrorists, people would have appreciated them, it continued.
The Security Advisor has chaired a meeting of the Strategic Operation Group (SOG) but how sincerely the Central forces would protect the people is highly doubtful, it said.
The COCOMI then urged the Government of India  to stop its alleged proxy war immediately if it sees the people of Manipur as equal citizens of the country.
It further urged the Central Government and the State Government to bring the violent crisis to an end at the earliest.
