SHS Campaign: Tamenglong hosts marathon

In a celebration of cleanliness in the community, the people of Tamenglong participated in a Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 Marathon today.
The race was flagged off from Haipou Jadonang Park, made its way to 5th Manipur Rifles Gate and returned at the starting point.
The marathon was flagged off by Dr L Angshim Dangshawa, DC, Tamenglong, joined by Lanmiyo Luikham, SP Tamenglong, CEO Tamenglong, Kachamthai and Nodal Officer of SHS, CMO Tamenglong Dr Majachunglu Gangmei, Additional SP of Tamenglong Josiah T Pamei and other esteemed officials, all of whom lent their support to the campaign.
Runners from various backgrounds including students, CSO leaders, civilians numbering more than 200 persons participated in the marathon.
Notably, Kenedy Kamei, Buanthanlung Gonmei and Ganglan Gangmei clinched the first, second adn third positions while, Ganchuiliu Gangmei, Kajatliu Gangmei, Lungsingthuanliu Panmei and Martha Panmei secured first, second, third and fourth positions in the women's category. All the winners were honored with certificates in recognition of their achievement.
In addition to the marathon, the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign is gearing up to host a “Waste to Art” event on September 23 encouraging creativity and innovation in recycling waste materials.
