7 IEDs weighing 28.5 Kgs recovered

IMPHAL, Sep 19 : Security forces recovered seven Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from the hilly region near Bongjang and Itham villages in Imphal East district.
The IEDs were seized during a joint operation by Army and Manipur police, said a press release issued by PRO & Spokesperson of Ministry of Defence (Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh) but they didn't mention when the bombs were seized.
The IEDs which altogether weigh 28.5 Kgs have been defused, it added.
Saying that sniffer dogs were also deployed during the operation, the statement added that the recovery has prevented a major disaster.
