Militants clash, woman killed

IMPHAL, Sep 9: A woman was killed when two groups of militants clashed at Thangbuh village near Laimaton in Kangpokpi district on Sunday night.
One Nemjakhol Lhungdim (46) w/o Seikhogin was killed in an exchange of fire between two groups of militants at Thangbuh village at  around 6 pm.
Three houses, one van and one auto-rickshaw were also set ablaze by one group of militants, sources said.
The body of Nemjakhol Lhungdim was handed over to her family after post mortem at Churachandpur district hospital today.
At around 7 pm yesterday, there was an exchange of fire between CRPF troops stationed in a school of Thangbuh village and some unidentified militants.
There was no report of any casualty on either side.
On the other hand, Kuki militants attacked Chandon-pokpi, Bishnupur district and Sugnu areas of Kakching district with bombs and sophisticated firearms at around 8 pm yesterday.
Meitei village volunteers retaliated resulting in an exchange of fire which lasted till around midnight.
But there was no report of any casualty, said the sources.  
Body found : The body of an unidentified man was  found lying this morning at Phumlou Maning Leikai near Pukhri Achouba under Lamsang police station.
The corpse was found by the locals with his throat cut.
The body has been deposited to RIMS mortuary by the  police.
Meanwhile, different posts uploaded on social media assumed that the deceased could be one Lalboi Mate of Motbung, Kangpokpi.
